The Convergence Quartet play engaging and inventive contemporary sounds that draw inspiration from a host of influences across jazz, modern classical music as well as ecology- making creative play of the metaphor of fungal mycelium as great improvisers in their natural environments; the music explores the dynamic nature of natural systems as springboards for compositional and improvisatory raw material.

The line-up is:

Alex Merritt- tenor saxophone and compositions

Elliot Galvin- piano/keyboard

Will Harris- acoustic bass

Jeremy Stacey- drums

Since having completed an 8 date UK Arts Council Funded tour of their music, the Convergence Quartet are set to record their debut album for Spanish label Fresh Sound New Talent in 2026, with plans to tour more widely in the UK and Europe from autumn/winter 2026-spring 2027. Hear the band below.
